Celiac Disease

Celiac Disease

Celiac disease is a multifaceted autoimmune disorder that affects approximately 1 in 100 individuals globally. Alarming statistics reveal that only 30% of celiac cases have been diagnosed accurately. This disorder is triggered by the consumption of gluten, which can damage the small intestine. Dr. Misra, an expert in the field, is researching celiac disease and evaluating various treatment options. Identifying and diagnosing celiac disease correctly is essential to prevent long-term complications and improve patient outcomes.

Early Liver Cancer Screening – Exact Science

NASH, or nonalcoholic steatohepatitis, is a liver condition that often goes unnoticed for years. However, it should not be taken lightly as it gradually worsens and can eventually lead to cirrhosis, a severe liver disease. Cirrhosis from NASH is becoming increasingly prevalent in the United States and is now one of the main causes of adult cirrhosis. This underscores the importance of early detection and appropriate medical management, which can help prevent further liver damage and the progression of the disease. If you suspect that you may be at risk for NASH, it is critical to speak with your healthcare provider and take the necessary steps to safeguard your liver health.

Join Encore Borland Groover Clinical Research (EBGCR) for a complimentary Fibroscan test for fatty liver. Be sure to take advantage of this opportunity to assess your liver health and take control of your well-being.

Bowel or Esophageal Strictures

Bowel or Esophageal Strictures

Bowel strictures, which are defined as a narrowing of the small or large intestine, can cause serious disruption to the digestive system. Symptoms can vary depending on the location and severity of the stricture, but commonly include nausea and vomiting, abdominal pain, bloating, and problems passing both gas and stool.

An esophageal stricture occurs when the esophagus narrows due to scarring of the lining. This scar tissue may be caused by chronic acid reflux and heartburn. While most esophageal strictures do not require clinical intervention, if left untreated those affected may experience difficulty in swallowing.

Fortunately, advancements in the medical field have made it possible to treat bowel or esophageal strictures through a variety of options such as endoscopy procedures or clinical trials involving drug therapy.

Type 2 Diabetes

Type 2 Diabetes

Type 2 diabetes is a condition that affects millions of people worldwide and can cause serious side effects such as heart problems, kidney failure, blindness, limb amputations and even death. This condition happens because the body has difficulty regulating and utilizing sugar, also known as glucose. Researchers are always seeking to learn more about this condition in order to develop better treatments for those affected. To achieve this, they rely heavily on clinical trials which involve individuals volunteering to take part in research projects aimed at finding different opportunities for preventative care or therapies that could be used for treatment. Participation in these trials can be incredibly beneficial for patients with Type 2 diabetes, allowing them to take an active role in their own health care journey.

Atopic Dermatitis

Itching from Urticaria

Learn more about this investigational treatment option for Itching from Urticaria or Chronic Spontaneous Urticaria ( CSU)

CSU is a skin condition that is characterized by transient and unpredictable itchy, red bumps on skin. CSU occurs spontaneously without a known cause.

The MAVERICK clinical study is examining a new investigational treatment option for Chronic Spontaneous Urticaria (CSU). Urticaria consists of itchy, red bumps on the skin that appear and disappear abruptly, with no known cause or trigger. The injections given subcutaneously under this study could offer a new avenue of relief for those with this uncomfortable condition. As the results of the study become available, they could have significant implications on how CSU is managed going forward, and provide much needed relief to people all over the world who are struggling with Urticaria.

Liquid Biopsy to Detect Early Stage Colorectal Cancer

Liquid Biopsy to Detect Early Stage Colorectal Cancer

In a world where colorectal cancer is the second leading cause of death, it’s important to have new ways that can help detect and treat these diseases early on. One such technique would be liquid biopsy- an innovative form of testing blood samples for signs of cancer.

Colorectal Polyp Clinical Decision Support Device

Colon cancer is the third leading cause of death from cancer in the United States. Colorectal cancer usually starts from polyps or other precancerous growths in the rectum or the colon (large intestine). As part of a colorectal cancer screening and surveillance plan, clinicians perform colonoscopies to detect changes or abnormalities in the lining of the colon and rectum. A colonoscopy involves threading an endoscope (thin, flexible tube with a camera at the end), through the rectum and throughout the entire length of the colon, allowing a clinician to see signs of cancer or precancerous lesions.

The team of clinicians at Encore Borland Groover Clinical Research (EBGCR) is exploring new ways to detect and prevent colon cancer.

Heptocellular Carcinoma

Hepatocellular carcinoma is the most common form of liver cancer.  The risk of hepatocellular carcinoma, the most common type of liver cancer, is higher in patients with long-term liver diseases. It is a serious illness that can be life-threatening.

Prevent Colon Cancer

Early CRC detection saves lives.

Are you due for your next colonoscopy within the next 90 days? Join this study to help us develop a blood test that accurately and easily detects colorectal cancer (CRC). According to the CDC, early detection can dramatically improve survival rates. That’s why we are looking to validate a simple blood test for early CRC detection.

Chronic Hepatitis C

Hepatitis C virus is most often transmitted through exposure to infected blood. Most people have no symptoms. Those who do develop symptoms may have fatigue, nausea, loss of appetite, and yellowing of the eyes and skin.
Hepatitis C is treated with antiviral medications. In some people, newer medicines can eradicate the virus.
