A graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia, Dr. Comar completed a residency in gastroenterology and fellowship in gastroenterology training.
Dr. Comar holds board certifications for both the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Gastroenterology. In addition to colon cancer screening and prevention, Dr. Comar is passionate about discovering new treatment options and helping patients deal with problems associated with disorders of the entire gastroenterology system.
Besides being married to a fellow physician, he is also a proud father of two children.

At Virginia Commonwealth University, Dr. Comar completed his residency and fellowship training in gastroenterology. He is a former recipient of the Robert Byrd Award for academic excellence and was awarded the Resident Scholar Award for two consecutive years at the Medical College of Virginia.
In addition to his board certifications in internal medicine, Dr. Comar also holds a board certification in gastroenterology from the American Board of Gastroenterology.
