Biography

Dr. Donevan Westerveld is a board-certified Internist and Gastroenterologist with extensive expertise in his field. He earned his medical degree and completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Florida in Gainesville, where he was recognized as the most outstanding resident in internal medicine. Among his accolades is the prestigious Leighton E. Cluff Award, honoring his exceptional leadership, integrity, and dedication to education. His commitment to patient care and leadership earned him a position as Chief Resident in internal medicine, and he was inducted into the distinguished Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) Medical Honor Society.
Dr. Westerveld further honed his skills during his gastroenterology fellowship at Weill Cornell Medical College in New York City. While he expertly treats disorders across the upper and lower gastrointestinal systems, his clinical interests include extensive polyp resections, pancreaticobiliary disorders, pancreatic cyst management, and endoscopic ultrasound procedures.
Beyond his professional achievements, Dr. Westerveld cherishes his time with his wife, who is his high school sweetheart, and their family. Outside the practice, he enjoys playing sports with his kids and exploring new destinations through travel.
