Biography

After completing his fellowship in gastroenterology and hepatology at the University of Texas Health Science Center/MD Anderson Cancer Center, Dr. Etzkorn completed an advanced fellowship in hepato-biliary medicine at the University of Illinois Hospital where he trained in advanced therapeutic procedures and the management of liver transplant patients. After completion of his training, he remained on the faculty at the University of Illinois in Chicago as acting director of the GI endoscopy lab, where he was involved in the training of fellows in advanced endoscopic procedures such as ERCP, endoscopic ultrasound and diagnostic laparoscopy. In addition, he was active in biomedical research, having initiated and completed several clinical studies in the advancement of endoscopic surgery techniques. Dr. Etzkorn joined Borland Groover in 1996, having a special interest in the advancement of therapeutic endoscopy and the management of liver diseases.
